CGP MEETS WITH GERMAN INVESTORS.
The Commissioner General of Prisons, Dr. Johnson Byabashaija, yesterday morning met with a team of German investors at his office in Prisons Headquarters.
The Commissioner General of Prisons, Dr. Johnson Byabashaija, yesterday morning met with a team of German investors at his office in Prisons Headquarters.
The Parliamentary Committee on Defence and Internal affairs on 10th August, 2017 visited Kitalya Mini Max Prison construction site to check on the progress of the ongoing works.
The team led by Hon. Judith Nabakoba were received and taken on a guided tour by the Deputy Commissioner General of Prisons James Mwanje.

1. Dr. George Muge, CP, Product Promotion & Distribution, Livestock Health & Development is appointed CP/ICT. He remains the Chairman of the Prisons Land Board. The Livestock Health & Development Section is taken over by Mr. Patrick Okonye, ACP, who reports to the CP Farms.
2. Mr. Wilson Francis Magomu, CP/RPC Kampala Extra Region is appointed CP, Industries at Prisons Headquarters. He remains the Regional Prisons Commander Kampala Extra Region until a substantive one is appointed.
The Commissioner General of Prisons, Johnson Byabashaija on the 15th July, 2017 attended the ground breaking ceremony for the construction of a Prison in Buliisa district.
The area Member of Parliament ,Resident District Commissioner and other district officials as well as area residents witnessed the handed over of documentation pertaining the land to the Commissioner General.
The reviewed Uganda Prisons Service Standing Orders 2017, were handed over to the Commissioner General of Prisons, Johnson Byabashaija CAN.DR by Director of Prisons David Nsalasatta at the Prisons Headquarters board room.

The Uganda Prisons Service won an award for Promoting the Rule of Law at the Uganda Law Society Second Quarterly Rule of Law Report at Serena Hotel, Kampala on 26th June, 2017.
The Commissioner General of Prisons carried out an inspection tour of stations and farms of Ruimi, Ibuga,Mubuku, Rukooki, Kibito and Fortportal.
