1. Mr. Anatoli Biryomumaisho, Ag. Commisioner, Rehabilitation and reintegration from leave , reverts back to his Department of Education as Assistant Commissioner in charge of Formal Education. He will take charge of all Prison Schools (Staff children and inmates) as Dean. Vocational Skills training will exclusively be handled by Ms. Madina Nabaggala, SSP. They both report to the Director Correctional Services until a substantive Commissioner of Prisons, Education Services is appointed.

74 inmates from Upper Maximum Prison Luzira were awarded
Certificates by Makerere University Business School on Tuesday 13^th
September, 2023. The awards received were for Diploma in Enterpreneurship and
Small Business Management and Certificate in Entrepreneurship and Small
Business Management spanning the academic years 2017/18, 2018/19, and 2020/21.

The President of the Republic of Uganda, H.E Yoweri Kaguta Museveni pardoned 200 prisoners on public health and humanitarian grounds in an Instrument of Pardon dated 20^th August, 2023
