VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT FOR THE POSTS OF GRANT OFFICER, BIO-STATISTICIAN, PREVENTION SPECIALIST AND ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT

The Uganda Prisons Service has received support from the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) to provide comprehensive HIV/AIDS, STI and TB services to prisoners and its staff. The project that spans the period 1st April, 2015 to 31st March, 2020 is being implemented by the Uganda Prisons Health Services Department.

This is to invite all applicants who were shortlisted for various posts of Cadet Assistants Superintendent of Prisons (CASPs) for an aptitude test on Saturday November 2, 2019 at Makerere University College of Computing and Information Sciences, block B as per the time table below:

Under Minute No. 60 of 2019 of the 25th Prisons Council Meeting, sitting in Kampala on Thursday 3rd October 2019, approved promotions of Junior Officers to various ranks as attached.

The Officers in Charge of stations, District Prisons Commanders and Regional Prisons Commanders should ensure that the promoted officers access the appropriate pips, badges and chevrons.

Every station, District and Region will then arrange for piping and Chevron ing ceremony.

RECRUITMENT OF WARDERS AND WARDRESSES INTO THE UGANDA PRISONS SERVICE, 2019.

Following the advertisement that ran in the media in June 2019 and interviews which were conducted at the Prisons Regional headquarters on the 24th July to 26th July, the following candidates have been Selected to join the Uganda Prisons service as recruit warders / wardresses.

SERVICE ORDERS PART II

1. Mr. John Bosco Tumwebaze, CP, Regional Prisons Commander Kampala Extra Region is transferred to Prisons Headquarters and appointed CP, Prisons Health Services.

2. Ms. Juliet Nantale, ACP, Regional Prisons Commander Central Region is transferred to Prisons Headquarters as ACP Welfare and Rehabilitation. She takes over from Mr. Rogers Nsubuga, ACWR who is retired from the Service.

3. Mr. Guster Kizza, SSP, Regional Prisons Commander East Central Region is transferred to Central Region as Regional Prisons Commander.

RECRUITMENT CADET A.S.Ps INTO THE UGANDA PRISONS SERVICE 2019

PRISONS AUTHORITY

Applications are invited from suitably qualified Ugandans to fill vacant posts of Cadet Assistant Superintendents of Prisons existing in the Uganda Prisons Service (UPS).

Applications should be filled in triplicate on Public Service Form No. 3 (2008) and submitted to the Secretary, Prisons Authority, P. O. Box 7191, Kampala, Social Security House 4th Floor, Plot 4, Jinja Road, not later than 30th July 2019. Hand written applications are also acceptable.

RECRUITMENT INTO THE UGANDA PRISONS SERVICE 2019

The Commissioner general of Prisons informs the general public that recruitment of Recruit Warders / Wardresses into the Uganda Prisons Service shall take place throughout the country from 24th July, 2019 to 26th July, 2019 at all Fifteen Regional Prisons headquarters at Kabale, Mbarara, Masaka, Kampala, Mukono, Jinja, Mbale, Soroti, Moroto, Lira, Gulu, Arua, Masindi, Fort portal and Mubende.

QUALIFICATIONS:

All Applicants must be: -

1. Uganda Citizens aged 18 – 30 years.
