1. Mr. Wilson Francis Magomu, CP, Industries at Prisons Headquarters is appointed CP Custodial Services, Safety and Security, Prisons Headquarters.
2. Mr. Robert Munanura, CP, Custodial Services – SS is appointed CP, Industries at Prisons Headquarters.
The Commissioner of Prisons, Can. Dr. Johnson Byabashaija with deep sorrow announces the demise of the former Commissioner General of Uganda Prisons, Joseph A.A Etima which occured at Nakasero Hopital on Saturday 23 June 2018 .
BURIAL ARRANGEMENTS TO BE COMMUNICATED.
Mr. Etima served as Commissioner General of Prisons with the Uganda Prison Service, from 1988 to 2005.
CAREER BRIEF
Joseph Etima began his career in 1966 with the Uganda Prison Service as a Cadet Assistant Superintendent of Prisons and Lecturer from 1967 to 1968.

The Prisons netball team have successfully defended the East and Central Africa Netball Championships held in Dar es salaam, Tanzania after defeating rivals National Insurance Cooperation (NIC) in a closely contested final with a 39 - 38 score.

The Commissioner General of Prisons, Can. Dr. Johnson Byabashaija rewarded prisons staff who represented Uganda at the Common wealth games in Australia at the Prisons headquarters boardroom.
They were rewarded with promotions various ranks and tokens of appreciation. Six staff were in the netball team, she cranes while two represented the country in atheletics.
The man hunt for the two prisoners who escaped from Masaka Chief Magistrates Court ends. This follows the disabling and capture of Musa Galiwango the last remaining fugitives this morning at 2.00am in kigalama village, kajala sub county Ntungamo district by the Police flying squad.
The 11th Annual General Meeting of the Prisons SACCO under the theme “Sustaining growth through members’ economic participation” was held on 22 -23 march, 2018 at the Prisons Academy and Training School luzira.
The Deputy Chief Justice, Hon. Justice Alfonse Chigamoy Owiny Dollo, on March 22, 2018 presided over the first Bachelor of Law graduation ceremony at Luzira Upper Prison. He described the event as a ground-breaking occasion that will inspire other prisoners.
