1. Mr. Wilson Francis Magomu, CP, Industries at Prisons Headquarters is appointed CP Custodial Services, Safety and Security, Prisons Headquarters.

2. Mr. Robert Munanura, CP, Custodial Services – SS is appointed CP, Industries at Prisons Headquarters.

FORMER COMMISSIONER GENERAL OF PRISONS DEAD.

The Commissioner of Prisons, Can. Dr. Johnson Byabashaija with deep sorrow announces the demise of the former Commissioner General of Uganda Prisons, Joseph A.A Etima which occured at Nakasero Hopital on Saturday 23 June 2018 .

BURIAL ARRANGEMENTS TO BE COMMUNICATED.

Mr. Etima served as Commissioner General of Prisons with the Uganda Prison Service, from 1988 to 2005.

CAREER BRIEF

Joseph Etima began his career in 1966 with the Uganda Prison Service as a Cadet Assistant Superintendent of Prisons and Lecturer from 1967 to 1968.

Grateful, this is to inform you that more than 858 staff who have not yet been validated will be AUTOMATICALLY DELETED from the pay roll with effect from JUNE 2018. Refer to list below of staff for validation. The purpose of this message is to cause all the unvalidated staff including the newly recruited / passed out staff to come for Biometric validation at PATS as per the programme below.

The following applicants who responded to the job adverts ran in March 2018 are hereby informed that they have been shortlisted and accordingly invited for oral interviews on the dates indicated below starting from 9.00am each day.

The candidates are advised to come with the originals of all their academic and employment records (certificates, transcripts, appointment letters, employee IDs, registration certificates, recommendations and any other relevant documents)  and national identity cards.

COMMISSIONER GENERAL REWARDS STAFF ON UGANDA COMMON WEALTH TEAM.

The Commissioner General of Prisons, Can. Dr. Johnson Byabashaija rewarded prisons staff who represented Uganda at the Common wealth games in Australia at the Prisons headquarters boardroom.

 

They were rewarded with promotions various ranks and tokens of appreciation. Six staff were in the netball team, she cranes while two represented the country in atheletics.

MAN HUNT ENDS

The man hunt for the two prisoners who escaped from Masaka Chief Magistrates Court ends. This follows the disabling and capture of Musa Galiwango the last remaining fugitives this morning at 2.00am in kigalama village, kajala sub county Ntungamo district by the Police flying squad.
