Aim and Purpose:
The purpose for this programme is to provide the administrative, management, research, ICT, financial, policy co-ordination and support functions necessary for effective and efficient service delivery by the department and in support of the functions of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. All activities under the programme are steered and clearly maintained by the Commissioner General of Prisons.
Measure objectives:

To provide effective and efficient financial and procurement and distribution of various goods and services, and disposal of assets of the department.

To improve human resource capacity and management to enable the prison department fulfill its mandate.

To ensure effective knowledge and management through improved information systems, information communication technology (ICT) technology solutions and services in order to ensure information driven decision making.

To ensure effective strategic, tactical and operational management and financial planning, compliance improvement, service delivery improvement, effective monitoring and evaluation, improved risk assessment and mitigation, appropriate operational management and co-ordination and improved management of priority projects in Uganda Prisons service.
